There are many ways you can help the Soup Kitchen fulfill its mission To serve the Sheep of Jesus Christ regardless of their race, religion, gender, orientation, medical diagnosis, mental capacity, or criminal history by providing their immediate need for nutritious meals.

Volunteers are the heart of our mission and essential to the daily operation of the soup kitchen. We can fulfill our mission because of the volunteers’ talents, enthusiasm, and dedication. We love our volunteers!! Thank you for considering joining our soup kitchen family! Requirements: A desire to serve your neighbors and community!

Monday – Friday
Meal Preparation
| Lunch 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Dinner 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Prepare weekend food bags Wash dishes Wrap silverware Sort, label, & date food donations |
Meal Service & Clean-up
| Lunch 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Dinner 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Clean & fold kitchen laundry Assist with cleaning days Occasional office help Miscellaneous duties as needed |
Families are welcome. We offer flexibility in scheduling (once a week, once a month, or whatever fits your schedule), training, and fellowship with other volunteers & staff.
Become a Committee Member
Join our Fundraising or Service/Operations committees. Are you a creative person, think outside the box, and like to help plan events? Are you skilled with plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance? Please consider joining our team!
Organize a Food Drive
KBMSK is always in need of food and supplies to fulfill our mission of fighting food insecurity through providing meals for anyone who comes to the kitchen. Consider organizing a neighborhood food drive or with friends and family. If you are interested in having a food drive, please contact Lyndsey or Chris for information on our current needs and to coordinate dates and times.
