It is with mixed feelings we announce the upcoming retirement of Jill Ebbert, our esteemed Executive Director, on September 30, 2024. Jill and the KBMSK are celebrating 15 years of providing delicious meals, served with love, to everyone who walks through the soup kitchen doors. Under Jill’s dedicated and enthusiastic leadership, the kitchen has grown from serving 926 meals in 2009 to serving over 48,000 meals in 2023. Over the 15 years, a total of 366,973 meals were served.
Under Jill’s guidance, the soup kitchen remained open through COVID, serving our brothers and sisters in need. Programs such as the Killowatt Krushers Club, which helps pay monthly utility bills, and the Sack Lunch program for weekend meals are vital to the kitchen and our mission. Through Jill’s many speaking engagements and community involvement, she has brought awareness of the need to provide food for those who are homeless or struggle to feed their family on limited resources. Jill has a servant’s heart, and her passion and dedication is instrumental to the success of the kitchen. We are sad to see Jill leave, but happy she will have some well-deserved time for herself to do whatever she pleases! We wish you a happy retirement, Jill!
